GLASGOW HAWKS were last night locked in a wrangle with Scottish Rugby Union chiefs over their on-off BT Cellnet Cup fourth-round clash with Dundee HSFP.
The match is due to be staged on Saturday but Hawks pulled out of the tie and applied for a postponement, claiming they had special dispensation because scrum-half Kenny Sinclair is on Scotland sevens duty in South Africa.

They were told by SRU officials, however, that they must play on the original date because they had missed the deadline in requesting a switch. Hawks then responded by lodging appeal to through district representative Bill Nolan, who backed their plea.
Glasgow spokesman Hugh Barrow said: "Our decision was taken as a result of receiving an official letter from Murrayfield which stated that teams with one member absent on sevens business could ask for a postponement.
"We were then informed that the request had been rejected because we had not lodged the application within 48 hours of the Cup draw being made.
"We are happy to admit that the original tournament regulations issued at the beginning of the season decreed that this time limit had to be observed but the subsequent letter from the SRU about the sevens arrangements made no mention of any 48-hour cut-off.
"We believe the second letter is the one which should govern our situation and that it cancels the previous instructions."
Barrow added: "There is an important point of principle involved. It appears to us that two SRU officials made an arbitrary decision to deny our appeal, when it should have been discussed and considered on a much wider level.
"We will go to Mayfield on Saturday if ordered to do so, but we firmly believe that we should be accorded the dispensation option as spelled out in the second letter from Murrayfield."
